Sonographer – Tacoma, Washington
Job Details
- Specialty: Ultrasound Tech
- Location: Tacoma, Washington
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights (8:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Tuesday through Friday, with some flexibility)
- Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Weekend Requirements: Weekend call from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (optional)
- Call Requirement: No call or standby required
- Orientation: 1-2 weeks depending on experience
Department & Work Environment
- Department: Radiology – Ultrasound
- Number of rooms: 4 (2 outpatient, 2 inpatient)
- Imaging types: Head and neck, whole body, some procedures (no musculoskeletal or vascular)
- Average scans per day: 30-40 per 10-hour shift shared among 4 techs
- Equipment: GE and Phillips ultrasound machines
- EMR/PACS systems: EPIC and McKesson PACS
- Radiologist: In-house
- Registered Radiology Assistants (RRA): Yes
- IV starts: Not required
- Scrubs: Light blue scrubs provided or bring your own
Required Qualifications
- BLS Certification
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen (RDMS-AB) via ARDMS
- Experience with head and neck scans and whole body scanning
- OB certification is helpful but not required
Additional Notes
- No floating or coverage of other areas required
- Holiday work is optional if openings exist
