Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Reno, Nevada

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a Med Surg/Telemetry setting. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, coordinating with other healthcare professionals as needed.

Work Schedule

• Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours guaranteed weekly)
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• Required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
• No call requirements
• May be required to float within competency level

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Nevada
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver optimal patient care using nursing knowledge and skills
• Manage individualized patient outcomes over entire episodes of care
• Address cognitive and psychosocial needs specific to patient populations served
• Include family/caregivers in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation when possible
• Exercise clinical judgment and decision-making in patient care
• Provide care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

Additional Information

• The facility is a Level II Trauma Center with advanced services including heart failure, neurosciences, robotic surgery, and advanced imaging technologies
• The position requires intensive continuous mental effort for safe patient care and professional interactions

Notes

• The employer reserves the right to cancel shifts with 48 hours’ notice for low census during the 13-week contract
• Floating and schedule flexibility are expected based on department needs
