Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Surgery (Travel)

Unit Information
- Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- 14 Operating Rooms
- 70 Full-Time Staff
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 RN and 1 Surgical Technologist (ST) per OR, plus Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and Assistive Technicians (ATs)
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 RN, 1 ST
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:1 (not guaranteed)
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
Typical Procedures
- Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
- Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR)
- Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
- Bentall procedure
- Aortic Dissection repair
Responsibilities
- Manage the operating room environment
- Assist surgeons during procedures
- Monitor vital signs
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care
Schedule
- Approximately 36 hours per week
- Flexibility for day and evening hours as needed
- Call shifts: 1-2 shifts from 5 PM to 7 PM per week
- Weekend call: 7 AM to 7 PM every 6th weekend
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Acute care experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
