Description
Radiologic Technologist (Interventional Technologist) - Travel Position
Location: Reno, Nevada
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Role involves producing optimal diagnostic images and providing excellent patient care in the Interventional Radiology department.
- Responsible for individualized patient care across Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric populations.
- Operates interventional imaging equipment and related machinery.
- Verifies and executes physician orders for diagnostic and therapeutic exams, ensuring patient safety and proper exam preparation.
- Acts as first assist to Interventional Cardiologist, Vascular Surgeon, or Interventional Radiologist.
- Duties include setting up sterile trays, maintaining room sterility, circulating, manipulating drains and lines, suturing, billing, filming, stocking supplies, charting, and quality improvement studies.
- May be required to float within the organization up to competency level.
- Schedule includes 4x10 hour shifts, Monday-Saturday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with weekday call (evenings) and weekend call approximately one full weekend every 4 weeks.
- May be required to work major holidays and pick up additional shifts.
Work Environment
- Extremely busy, fast-paced Level II Trauma Center with Stroke accreditation.
- Hospital serves a 500-mile radius with approximately 800 inpatient beds and 80 ER beds.
- Patient volume and pace comparable to a Level I trauma center.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Nevada.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year.
- Certification required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) R.T. (R) OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Additional Information
- Call requirements: Weekday call from 5:30 PM to 7:00 AM (about one shift per week, may vary) and 48-hour weekend call every 4 weeks.
- May be required to assist other modalities within the department.
- Schedule and call may vary based on department needs; employer reserves the right to cancel shifts with 48 hours’ notice due to low census.
- The position involves direct patient care and requires adherence to age-specific competency standards.
