Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

• Level III trauma center with 198 beds
• Operating Room with 10 ORs, diverse specialties including Urology, Neuro, General, GYN, Podiatry, Plastic, Ortho, Dental, ENT
• Patient population includes all ages, diverse cases
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 4x10 hour shifts with variable call (4-5 shifts/month)
• Occasional weekend hours and call required
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36

Job Responsibilities & Skills

• Support patients and surgeons during significant traumatic injury cases
• Anticipate and prepare necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Skilled in a range of procedures from basic laparoscopic to complex open abdominal and chest trauma surgeries
• Comfortable working in a high-acuity trauma OR environment

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications: BLS and PALS issued by the American Heart Association, ACLS
• Proficiency and experience in Neuro, Orthopedic, Trauma, Vascular, and OB/GYN surgical specialties
• Demonstrated trauma and OB/GYN experience
