Description
Registered Nurse – Nephrology
Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Overview
- Level III trauma center with 198 beds
- Nephrology unit is an extension of the Med/Surg units
- Unit has 24 beds with patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:6
- Patient population primarily geriatric and adult
- Equipment includes VS machines, bladder scanners, lifts, thermal imaging, IV pumps/tubes
- Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
- Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend requirement: Minimum 2 weekend shifts per month
- Call: None required
- Float: As needed per facility needs
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of recent Nephrology experience within the last year
- Med/Surg nursing experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
- Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
- Nephrology experience preferred but not required
Common Diagnoses & Treatments
- End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
- Peritoneal Dialysis
- Hemodialysis
Additional Information
- Position requires passing an area-specific competency exam and screening questions
- Observation unit experience is a plus
- Must work at least 2 weekend shifts per month
- Located in a region offering outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and access to national parks for an adventurous lifestyle
