Description
X-Ray Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Seattle, Washington
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Shift: Day (4x10 Hours), 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Must have experience in all X-ray procedures and operating C-arms during surgery.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Previous permanent employees of any affiliated facility must have a minimum 3-month separation before qualifying for this travel position.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Washington
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT (Radiography) certification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; updated annually.
- Various state and federal background screenings including SSN trace, death master index, sex offender registry, education verification, and others as applicable.
- WA State Patrol Search required within 90 days of start and updated every 2 years for certain facility types.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format required.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
Certifications and Competencies
- Must maintain current BLS certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation).
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM, IV Certification, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, and other certifications may be required depending on unit and clinical track (verify with clinical lead).
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
- Color blindness testing may be required on a unit-by-unit basis.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
- Fit mask test required for travel candidates, updated annually.
- Immunizations and/or proof of immunity required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer or declination)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 12 months of start; instants acceptable.
Additional Requirements
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required prior to start.
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp).
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
Notes
- Candidates must be prepared to float to other facilities within a reasonable distance if required.
- Education verification required; international education requires additional documentation.
- Returning candidates with less than 90-day gap may have some background and training requirements waived or deferred.
