Registered Nurse (Progressive Care Unit) - Illinois
Location
- Quincy, Illinois
- Close to St. Louis area
Unit Details
- Progressive Care Unit with approximately 24 beds
- Patient population includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary issues, sepsis, high flow oxygen needs, and behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications
- 1:3 to 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio depending on acuity
- High patient throughput typical of step-down units
- Medication drips commonly used: dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amiodarone, dobutamine, nicardipine
- Educator available on unit to support staff
Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts
- Approximately 36 hours per week
- May work up to every other weekend
Orientation & Training
- 1 week of orientation provided
- Automated charting system in use
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
