Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR)
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Unit Details
- Weekend rotation schedule to be discussed during interview
- Call schedule: Typically one weekday call per week and one weekend call every 5-6 weeks
- Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
- If assignment includes major holidays, traveler is expected to work:
- 1 holiday: work it
- 2 holidays: work both
- 3 holidays: work two of the three
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
- Full compliance with onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience, with CVOR experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months of start; if previously positive, must provide proof and negative chest x-ray within 6 months
- TB Questionnaire updated annually
- Physical exam within 12 months of start (agency requirement)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
- Immunizations/vaccinations:
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination (declination form required if titer negative)
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella; boosters may be pending if not immediately eligible
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer; boosters may be pending if not immediately eligible
- TDAP highly recommended but not required; declination form available if no record
- Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
- Must review and sign facility-specific Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
Documentation and Verification
- Valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background check completed within 30 days of start, including education verification and criminal history
- Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
- State license verification within 30 days prior to start
- Annual NURSYS verification within 30 days prior to start
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
- Two clinical references required
Additional Notes
- Privileging compliance and additional vaccine declination forms apply only to certain specialties (not applicable to CVOR)
- Respirator fit test may be required during on-site orientation for privileging specialties (not applicable here)
- Candidate must be fully compliant with all requirements to avoid start delays
