Radiation Therapist Travel Job – Las Cruces, New Mexico

Job Description

  • Position is for Radiation Therapists (not Radiation Technologists).
  • Work setting includes Radiology department with exposure to acute care, bedside portables, children’s hospital, ER/Trauma, Level 1 Trauma, mobile units, OR, and outpatient settings.
  • Patient population ranges from neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult to geriatric.
  • Procedures may include fluoroscopy/contrast studies, enema studies, myelograms, and OR studies.
  • Call requirements apply.
  • Expected number of scans per shift: 100-150.
  • Equipment used includes C-Arm, GE Signa, and TOSHIBA.
  • Electronic Health Records systems: McKesson, Meditech.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in New Mexico
  • Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT (T) Certification
  • BLS certification
  • Must comply with New Mexico state fingerprinting and background check requirements; a 14-day supervised waiver period is possible while awaiting results
  • Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff

  • Orientation is held weekly on Mondays.
  • The facility is Joint Commission Accredited and recognized as a Certified Primary Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI.
  • The area offers year-round sunshine and numerous outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, biking, ATV riding, hunting, and horseback riding.
