Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Day Shift)

Location: Peoria, Arizona
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 1 month

Job Summary

• Provide nursing care in the Operating Room (OR) setting, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of patient care.
• Accountable for quality nursing services delivered by self and those under direction.
• Utilize specialized nursing knowledge and judgment to care for patients across physical and developmental ages.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and revise patient care plans.
• Promote continuity of care through effective communication with healthcare team members.
• Participate in education, mentoring, and shared leadership activities within the department.
• May provide relief charge nurse duties as needed.

Work Schedule

• Day shift: 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• Contract dates: Mid-August to early October
• Support increased surgical case volume

Clinical Focus Areas

• Strong skills needed in ENT (Adults and Pediatrics), Spine, Podiatry, Orthopedic Hand surgeries
• Experience with Endoscopy and Colorectal surgeries is highly desirable

Physical Demands & Environment

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and stretching
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and assist patients with ambulation and transfers
• Requires fine motor skills, adequate hearing, vision (including color vision), and eye-hand coordination
• Use of standard precautions due to exposure risk to blood and bodily fluids
• Effective communication skills required (verbal and written)
• Periodic use of computer and general office equipment

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years of OR Circulate experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Strong skills in ENT (Adults and Pediatrics), Spine, Podiatry, and Orthopedic Hand surgeries

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional perioperative or OR nursing experience
