Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General
Location: Dover, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evening (5 days per week, 8 hours per day, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Cover afternoon shifts due to staffing shortage.
- Specialty area: Radiology / Cardiology (Ultrasound Tech).
Required Qualifications
- Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience.
- Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year.
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) must be carried on assignment.
- Background check required prior to start, including:
- FCRA-compliant 7-year search (SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide, sex offender registry, OFAC, FACIS Level 3, education verification).
- No pending or active criminal cases; no multiple misdemeanor convictions within 7 years involving drug abuse, theft, assault, or sexual acts; no felony convictions within 7 years.
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
- Fingerprinting:
- Must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract.
- FBI and BCI fingerprint results required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
- For Radiology/Cardiology specialties other than X-Ray Techs and MRI Techs, fingerprint results cannot be pending at start.
- Additional fingerprinting may be required at the facility.
- Education verification required for all candidates.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
- Fit mask test (3M 1860 small/regular or 1870+) within 12 months of start, updated annually (not required for some allied roles, but required here).
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years, no religious exemptions accepted).
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold/T-Spot) within 6 months of start; chest x-ray if prior positive TB test.
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal.
- Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination documented.
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster if negative or equivocal.
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen required, updated annually (instant screens not accepted).
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 – Mar 31); declinations not accepted.
Competency and Orientation
- Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
- Annual safety manual acknowledgement.
- Completion of facility-specific onboarding modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; video training must be completed before testing).
- Various facility checklists and acknowledgements must be completed on day 1 of orientation (e.g., confidentiality agreement, patient care checklist, IS access form, COVID-19 questionnaire).
- Photo ID badge required prior to start.

- Modules and onboarding typically take multiple days and must be prioritized to avoid delays.
- Travelers returning to the facility after a break longer than 6 months may need to repeat orientation modules.
