Description

Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Support Neuro Interventional Radiology (IR) and Hybrid OR procedures including:
    • Stroke interventions
    • Carotid stenting
    • Aneurysm repair
    • Vascular procedures
    • ECMO
    • TAVR cases
  • Work in a teaching hospital environment
  • Use Epic EMR system
  • 2-week orientation provided

Schedule

  • 10-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Call required: one weekend every 13 weeks and one call day per month

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Ohio
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS certification required (AHA only; Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
  • Experience with hemodynamic monitoring

Licensure & Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit (check specifics)
  • Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification)

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
  • Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
  • Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
  • Subcontractors must complete background acknowledgement form prior to start
  • Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required
  • Confidential Fraud, Waste, and Abuse reporting form and training certificate required (updated annually)
  • Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgment

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire required annually
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12) required
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters if low titer
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required unless medically exempt
  • Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series or signed declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
  • Fit mask test required annually for inpatient/patient-facing roles starting 7/13/2026 (specific mask types accepted)
  • COVID vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Experience & References

  • Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)
  • Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership (charge RN acceptable as second reference)

Additional Notes

  • Unit-specific competency exams required
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually for RNs (not applicable if remote or excluded units)
  • National certification verification required within 30 days of start for tech roles as applicable
  • License verification required within 30 days of start
  • Transcript/diploma verification required for relevant clinical roles
  • Fingerprinting results must be obtained prior to start; new fingerprinting required if break in service exceeds 90 days or results older than 1 year
