Scrub Tech

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
On Call: Required, typically 5-6 weekday shifts and 1 weekend shift per 4 weeks (varies monthly)


Job Description

  • Work in the Operating Room (OR) on the 2nd floor of the main hospital building.
  • Unit has 11 ORs with a variety of OR beds and equipment.
  • Patient ratio is 1:1.
  • EMR system used: Epic.
  • Typical procedures include Total Joint Arthroplasty, multi-level spine fusions, and various Da Vinci Xi robotic cases (GYN, colorectal, general surgery).
  • Very little ENT, dental, eye, or plastic surgery cases.
  • Team includes approximately 8 RNs, 8 scrub techs, and 5 surgical support techs on day shift; night shift has one charge RN and one scrub tech in-house with call team backup.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude is preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
  • NBSTSA certification required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Experience with Da Vinci Xi robotic systems, spinal fusion, orthopedic or neuroservice cases, and total joint arthroplasty is mandatory.
  • Must be a patient advocate.

Additional Information

  • Scrubs are provided by the facility.
  • Floating to other areas is not required.
  • Start date expected within 3 weeks of offer.
