Description
Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Jackson, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: Day shift, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (5 days a week, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week)
- Call: One night per week from 2:30 PM to 6:00 AM next morning, plus every 5th weekend from Saturday 7:00 AM to Monday 6:00 AM
- Possible holiday call required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- CVOR experience totaling 2 years, including experience within the last year
- Current ACLS certification (AHA or ARC only)
- Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands of the position
- Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year or clear chest X-ray if previously positive
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- N95 Fit Test within 1 year (no PAPR allowed; failure to pass results in contract cancellation)
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Required vaccinations or titers with boosters if needed:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Hepatitis B (titer or series; declination form required if booster declined)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (no exemptions accepted)
- COVID vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (agency exemption form accepted)
Background and Compliance
- Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including nationwide and international if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- EPIC test-out required prior to or shortly after start (one attempt only; failure results in contract cancellation)
- Appearance standards must be reviewed and signed prior to start
Additional Notes
- Locals and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate
- Clinician interview required before placement
- No prior travel experience required
This position is ideal for experienced CVOR RNs with strong surgical knowledge and recent Epic experience seeking a 13-week travel contract with a structured day shift and defined call schedule.
