Description
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Location: Weatherford, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM, every other weekend
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Unit Overview
- Emergency Department with 23 beds
- Patient ratio: 4:1
- Staffing: All nurses are RNs; techs and secretary support at lobby
- Equipment: Standard ED equipment
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Floating: As needed
- Procedures performed: Standard ED procedures, Level IV trauma, Primary stroke center, Chest Pain Accredited with PCI (STEMI 24/7)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas (temporary licenses not accepted)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications (must have all):
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention Training) preferred
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Meditech documentation system
Dress Code and Appearance Guidelines
- Scrub color for RNs: Royal Blue
- Nails: Clean and healthy; no artificial, gel, or next-gen nails
- Hair: Neat, clean, no extreme styles or colors; must be pulled back if shoulder length or longer when working in the lab
- Facial hair: Clean and neatly trimmed
- Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions addressed individually
- Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; no visible nose, tongue, or other piercings
- Shoes: Must be non-absorbent with slip-resistant soles; breathable mesh athletic shoes without leather or man-made upper are not permitted

- Floating policy and attendance policies are in place and must be followed
Summary
This travel RN position in the Emergency Department requires a minimum of 2 years ED experience, an active Texas RN license, and multiple critical certifications.
