Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location: Weatherford, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM, every other weekend
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Overview

• Emergency Department with 23 beds
• Patient ratio: 4:1
• Staffing: All nurses are RNs; techs and secretary support at lobby
• Equipment: Standard ED equipment
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Floating: As needed
• Procedures performed: Standard ED procedures, Level IV trauma, Primary stroke center, Chest Pain Accredited with PCI (STEMI 24/7)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas (temporary licenses not accepted)
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications (must have all):

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention Training) preferred

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Meditech documentation system

Dress Code and Appearance Guidelines

• Scrub color for RNs: Royal Blue
• Nails: Clean and healthy; no artificial, gel, or next-gen nails
• Hair: Neat, clean, no extreme styles or colors; must be pulled back if shoulder length or longer when working in the lab
• Facial hair: Clean and neatly trimmed
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions addressed individually
• Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; no visible nose, tongue, or other piercings
• Shoes: Must be non-absorbent with slip-resistant soles; breathable mesh athletic shoes without leather or man-made upper are not permitted

Summary

This travel RN position in the Emergency Department requires a minimum of 2 years ED experience, an active Texas RN license, and multiple critical certifications.
