Description
NICU Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Spokane, Washington
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details
- Position may float between units
- Weekends required, schedule variable
- No on-call required
- No block schedules required
- Patient ratios expected: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3
- 48-hour shifts not approved
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) within the last year
- Certifications:
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
- Immunizations and screenings required:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates (not required for per diem or non-patient facing roles)
- Fit mask test required annually for travel candidates (onsite testing available if no valid record)
Background and Compliance
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- State-specific searches and registries as required by Washington state law
- Education verification and transcript/diploma required if internationally educated
- NURSYS license verification required for all RNs
- E-Verify attestation required
- Social Security card and government-issued photo ID required
Competencies and Training
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Competency exams required as applicable by specialty
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification or assessment required for Labor & Delivery nurses (not applicable here)
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS (Workramp)
- Epic training modules required prior to or shortly after orientation
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
- Float policy acknowledgment required (may be required to float to other units or facilities within reasonable distance)
- WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation required for nurses working with out-of-state compact licenses in Washington
Work Environment
- Night shift with 36 hours per week
- Variable weekend schedule
- Patient care ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on patient acuity
