Cardiac Sonographer Position - Nebraska, Omaha

Job Overview

• Perform cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound procedures to acquire echocardiographic and/or vascular data.
• Provide education and training in ultrasound procedures for fellows, interns, and other staff.
• Utilize equipment such as Philips EPIQs, Intellispace, and EPIC for EMR.
• Work schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program (one year of education equals one year of experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of solid cardiac sonographer experience (2 years considered if experience is at an academic teaching hospital).
• At least 2 years of prior travel experience (not a first travel assignment).
• Registered in cardiac ultrasound (ARDMS or RCS via CCI acceptable).
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Prior cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound experience in a healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Demonstrated ability to think deductively and make clinical decisions.
• Experience with ultrasound equipment, including transesophageal transducers.
• Familiarity with research computer systems, hospital information systems, and digital echo storage systems.
• Knowledge of cardiovascular and vascular circulatory system principles, including physics and blood flow hemodynamics.
• Experience with typical office equipment.

Additional Information

• Orientation includes 12 hours of non-billable training.
• Call-off allowance: up to 36 hours every 13 weeks.
• Candidates must be outside a 100-mile radius; local candidates are not accepted.
