Description
Travel RN - Orthopedic Surgery
Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Orthopedics
- Number of Beds: 30
- Staffing: 1 Charge Nurse, 4-6 bedside RNs, 2-4 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- Patient Ratios: 1:5 or 1:6
- Equipment Used: Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) machines, Nerve block pumps, On-Q balls
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
- Patient Population: Elective orthopedic and orthopedic trauma patients
Typical Procedures
- IV starts
- Foley and straight catheterization
- CPM application
- Early mobilization
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
- Minimum 2 years of Orthopedics experience, including Orthopedic Surgery experience
- Orthopedics experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Experience with Meditech EMR

- Strong teamwork and dedicated nursing staff focused on quality patient outcomes and experience

- Candidates without at least 1 year of acute care orthopedic nursing experience will not be considered.
