Description
Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)
Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Medical/Surgical unit with telemetry monitoring
- 33 rooms, up to 49 patients (some semi-private rooms)
- Staff: 62 total
- Day shift: 2 charge nurses, 2 techs, 6-7 RNs
- Night shift: 1 charge nurse, 1.5 techs, 5-6 RNs
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 (day), 5:1 (night)
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
- Specialty in caring for surgical flap patients, including spinal cord injury patients with stage 4 wounds requiring surgical intervention
- Collaborates with burn unit to care for low acuity burn patients
- Busy medical floor environment
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Colorado
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification
- Hhcca De-escalation Skills - Healthcare Setting
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with spinal cord injury (SCI) patients
- ACLS certification

- Occasional bowel program
- Light burn care
