Description
Mammography Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Placerville, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM depending on location)
- Hours: 40 hours per week (5 days x 8 hours)
- Work Setting: Floating between two nearby outpatient facilities (~15 miles apart), typically one facility per week with rare same-day floating
- Patient Age Group: Adults and Geriatrics
- Electronic Medical Record System: EPIC
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (Mammography)
- California Mammographic Radiologic Technologist License
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred/required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) preferred
Required Skills and Procedures
- Outpatient mammography services including:
- 3-D Mammography
- Diagnostic and Screening Mammograms
- Digital Mammography
- Fine Needle Aspirations
- Needle Localizations
- Stereotactic Biopsy
- Digital Quality Assurance Procedures
- Experience with GE imaging equipment preferred
- Knowledge of Radiation Safety, Isolation Precautions, and Universal Precautions/Core Measures
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Mammography)
- Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; implied competency in mammography procedures and certifications required

Additional Requirements and Notes
- No weekend shifts, on-call, or mandatory floating beyond the described facility rotation
- No Return to Office (RTO) within 2 weeks of contract start; RTO will not be approved after contract signing
- Must bring a government-issued photo ID to orientation
- Passport-style photo required for badge (recent, professional, no filters, solid background)
- Must complete facility-specific trainings and competency exams, including:
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Age-Specific Competency Exam
- Harassment Prevention Training (updated every 2 years)
- HIPAA Privacy & Security Training with handwritten signature
- Stroke Education Packet and Post Test (if applicable)
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start, cleared without restrictions, including latex allergy self-assessment
- Fit test for PAPR or 3M N95 mask within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: proof of immunity or vaccination per policy
- Hepatitis B: titer, declination, or vaccine series
- Varicella: titer, vaccination, or history of chickenpox
- 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Nov-April); mask required if declining
- COVID vaccination preferred but not required as of January 2025
- Two professional references required (acute care or allied health experience preferred)
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Mammography Technologist license in California
- Mammography Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (Mammography) certification
- California Mammographic Radiologic Technologist License
- Experience with GE Healthcare imaging equipment
