Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Sanford, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Work in a 21-bed Emergency Department serving all age groups.
- Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend hours: Every other weekend and some holidays
- No call requirements
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
- Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
- Fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring multitasking and teamwork
Unit & Patient Population
- Emergency Department with 12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, and 5 fast track rooms
- Common diagnoses and treatments include COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, and stroke
- Equipment: Emergency equipment available
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Emergency Medicine and Psychiatric Emergency Room is a plus
- Skills in trauma, resuscitation, IV therapy, oxygen support, blood product administration, and basic telemetry/EKG

- Float requirements: As needed
- Dress code: Scrubs of any color allowed; no open-toed footwear, spandex pants, or sweatshirts permitted
- Orientation sessions held weekly on Mondays
