Job Description

• Perform a full range of ultrasound procedures and produce quality diagnostic images.
• Process films, prepare records of services performed.
• Adjust equipment and report any malfunctions.
• Transport patients to and from the department.
• Maintain scheduled patient appointments and manage unscheduled exams efficiently.

Shift Details

• Evening shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (15:30 to 00:00).
• Some overnight shifts as needed.
• Weekend rotation required.
• On-call required if census permits.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including experience within the last year.
• Experience working in an acute care setting.
• ARDMS Registered Medical Sonographer certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 6 months of start.
• Various screenings including FACIS Level 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender Search, OFAC Sanctions List, and Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List as applicable.
• Education verification required (highest level achieved).
• Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps.
• Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained.
• 2 professional references required (within 3 years) for clinical/allied acute care candidates.

Certifications and Licenses

• ARDMS Registered Medical Sonographer license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC).
• State professional license verification required within 30 days of start.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work).
• Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted).
• Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or lifetime TDAP with booster within 10 years.
• Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT within 90 days) or 2 PPDs as specified; must be renewed annually.
• Immunity or vaccination proof required for:

  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series or signed declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law).
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination.
• Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person exam only).
• Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start, renewed annually.
