Registered Nurse (ER RN) - Travel Opportunity in Washington
Location
- City: Monroe, Washington
- Facility Type: Level IV trauma center serving rural and urban populations
Job Details
- Specialty: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
- Shift: Nights, every other weekend (EOW)
- Hours: 36 hours per week, 3 shifts of 12 hours each
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Float: Required to float across Emergency Department and inpatient units as needed
Patient Population & Environment
- Trauma Level: IV trauma center with 2 trauma rooms and 11 exam rooms (4 fast track)
- Patient Types: Standard ER patients, including psych holds (usually <24 hours), prison patients, deliveries stabilized and transferred
- Common Procedures: Ventilator management before ICU transfer, telemetry strip interpretation required
- Staffing: 1 ER physician 24/7, PA from 2pm, hospitalist coverage until 5pm, respiratory therapist 24/7, pharmacy open 6am-10pm with after-hours contract coverage
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Orientation: 2-3 shifts floor-specific orientation provided
Required Certifications & Experience
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years ER nursing experience preferred
- Charge Nurse experience preferred but not required
Additional Notes
- Weekend and holiday work required as part of staff rotation
- Scrubs provided
- Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Exposure to a variety of cases including trauma, psych, and obstetrics stabilization
This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a diverse ER setting with a mix of rural and urban patient care, requiring strong emergency nursing skills and flexibility to float between units.
