Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Marshall, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Work Schedule: Full Time
Unit & Patient Population
- Patient types include Emergency Department (ED), trauma, medical, critical care, and pediatrics.
- May be floated to other ED departments as needed.
Job Summary
- Independently provides routine and complex nursing care in an emergency setting.
- Utilizes nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Manages psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers.
- Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year.
Certifications & Licenses
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
