Registered Nurse - Emergency
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Direct Care Registered Nurse
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Specialty: Emergency Nursing
Job Description
Provide nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex under general supervision. Responsibilities include:
- Managing an assigned group of patients and documenting their responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments.
- Assisting physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary.
- Administering medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products.
- Communicating care plans with patients and families, including at discharge.
- Making referrals for patient care needs and delegating tasks to support staff.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Additional Information
- Trauma and travel experience is required.
- Preferred education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher from a board-approved program.
