Description
Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in the Emergency Room (ER) setting.
- Night shift coverage required.
- Must work at least every other holiday.
- Orientation includes passing an ECG rhythm recognition test and a medication administration exam (SafeMedicate).
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio.
- Minimum 1.5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year.
- Current certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Licensure & Certifications
- Primary source verification of RN license required within 30 days of start.
- NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start.
- Certifications must be current and renewed if expiring within 30 days of start.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to perform essential job functions.
- Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months of start, updated annually.
- Immunizations and documentation required:
- Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titers with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B – titer, series, or declination accepted with agency-approved exemptions
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster if needed
- Seasonal flu vaccination required annually (no declinations accepted)
- Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted).
- Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start.
Background & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried on assignment.
- Comprehensive background check required prior to start, including:
- FCRA-compliant 7-year search (SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide, sex offender registry, OFAC, FACIS Level 3, education verification)
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start, updated annually. Must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract.
- Candidates may start with fingerprint results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start.
- References: 2 professional references from employment within 1 year, from manager/supervisor/charge nurse/director (co-worker references not accepted).
Orientation & Onboarding
- Completion of online training modules prior to start is mandatory. Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone.
- Modules include facility-specific training and must be completed before badge pickup and clearance to start.
- Candidates with a break in employment longer than 6 months at this facility must re-complete modules.
- Candidates transitioning between campuses without a break do not require re-orientation.

- Candidates must be prepared to complete all required documentation and certifications prior to start.
- Candidates with name changes must have consistent legal names across all documents.
- Physical accommodations available for latex allergies; notification required.
- Religious and medical exemptions for vaccines and fit mask are accepted but require agency approval and facility review.
