Description
Occupational Therapist (OT)
Location: Jamestown, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
Job Summary
- Assess, plan, develop, and implement occupational therapy programs for patients of all ages (pediatrics to geriatrics) to facilitate rehabilitation of physical or mental disabilities.
- Direct patient participation in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance and promote health.
- Evaluate physical, psychological, cognitive, and social needs, including for Swingbed patients.
- Collaborate with rehabilitation team members to tailor programs to patient needs and capabilities.
- Teach skills and techniques for self-care and independence; monitor patient progress and adapt programs accordingly.
- Perform work site ergonomic analyses and provide recommendations.
- Design, fabricate, and fit adaptive devices such as splints and braces.
- Provide therapy services for home health and contracted facilities.
- Train medical and nursing personnel in occupational therapy techniques.
- Maintain records and reports of patient progress.
Required Qualifications
- M.S. or B.S. Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensure eligibility in North Dakota and current registration by NBCOT.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
- CPR certification to be completed every other year.
- At least 1 year of work experience as an occupational therapist is desirable but not required.
Skills and Abilities
- High analytical ability for ongoing patient assessment and treatment plan adjustments.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; must maintain courteous and tactful relationships with patients, families, and coworkers.
- Responsible for supervising Rehab Aides, Students, Rehab Secretary/Aide, and COTA as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure the physical and emotional welfare of patients and staff.
- Good general health and ability to communicate clearly in English.

- 8 hours of non-billable orientation required.
