    Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Seattle, Washington
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Shift: Night (4 shifts of 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Work in a high-risk, high-acuity Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit with an average daily census of 15 patients and 500-600 deliveries per month.
    • Unit includes 31 rooms and 31 beds, with 4 operating rooms.
    • Float responsibilities include postpartum and antepartum care; may float to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care.
    • Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services (substance recovery), and community care clinics.
    • Use of EPIC electronic medical records with hard stop requirements for electronic fetal monitoring.
    • Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines.
    • Functions include circulating during delivery, newborn care (eyes, thighs, assessments), and administration of medications such as Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate.
    • Must be able to provide newborn care including Vitamin K injections and newborn assessments (hard stop requirement).
    • Work schedule is posted every 6 weeks and may require working every other weekend and holidays as needed. Pre-approved time off is considered case-by-case.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington.
    • Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
    • Experience working with high-risk patients in Labor and Delivery.
    • Current certifications in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
