Description
Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Surgery (Travel)
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Shift: Day shift (5 AM – 5 PM) with on-call requirements
Unit Information
- Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) with 2 heart rooms and a possible 3rd room
- Staff includes 4 RNs and 3 Certified Surgical Technologists (CST)
- No night shift; on-call required 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend per month
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- EMR system: Meditech / CPN
- Procedures performed: CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR
- ECMO program restarting
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Acute care experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications
- PALS certification
- Experience with open heart and cardiovascular procedures
- Prior experience with Meditech EMR
