Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR)
Location: Overland Park, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview
- Operating Room in a 343-bed hospital
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Surgical equipment used
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Scheduling: Set schedules with options for 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts (based on availability)
- Floating policy: No floating except rarely for COVID-related needs
- Trauma Center designation: Johnson County’s only American College of Surgeons verified Trauma Center, equipped for 24/7 life-threatening injury care
- New graduates are welcome
- Friendly, team-based culture with staff experience ranging from new grads to over 30 years

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)

- Hospital-laundered scrubs provided by the department
- The unit holds multiple accreditations and certifications including:
- Gold Seal of Approval from JCAHO
- American College of Surgeons Verified Trauma Center
- Advanced Certification in Stroke (Primary Stroke Center)
- Full accreditation in Chest Pain care and treatment
- Blue Distinction Centers for Knee and Hip Replacement and Maternity Care
- Other accreditations in laboratory, cardiac rehab, breast centers, sleep medicine, cancer care, and national quality approval
