CVOR Tech - Surgical Services

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift Options:
    • Day: 06:45 - 15:15
    • Evening: 14:45 - 23:15
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day
  • OR Setup: 6 total ORs (4 standard ORs, 1 Hybrid, 1 Peripheral Vascular)
  • Weekend Requirement: Up to 2 weekends per month, holiday call as needed
  • On-Call: Up to 2 weekdays per week, plus weekends and holidays as needed
  • Floating: No floating within or to sister facilities
  • Locals: Not accepted within 100-mile radius
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 5 days

Case Types Required

  • Cardiac Surgery:
    • CABG (on/off pump)
    • AVR, MVRR, TVRR
    • Aortic aneurysm/dissection
    • Total artificial heart
    • Heart transplant
    • LVAD implantation
    • Minimally invasive valve replacement
    • Trans-catheter mitral/aortic/tricuspid valve replacement
  • Vascular Surgery:
    • Endovascular and open vascular procedures including AAA, thoracic and thoracoabdominal aneurysm (including fenestrated grafts)
    • Endarterectomy
    • Bypass for peripheral artery disease
    • Amputation
    • ECMO decannulation and repositioning
  • Preferred Cases: General, endo/laparoscopic, vascular, thoracic, bariatrics, transplant
  • Specific CVOR Case Experience Required:
    • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair
    • Atrial Septal Defect repair
    • Carotid endarterectomy
    • Coronary Artery Bypass Graft
    • Endovascular Aneurysm Repair
    • Endovascular Aortic Repair (EVAR)
    • Femoral Popliteal Bypass Graft
    • Mitral Valve Replacement
    • Pericardial Window
    • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
    • Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR)
    • Ventricular Assist Device (VAD)
    • ECMO

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
  • National certification: NBSTSA or NCCT
  • BLS certification required

Facility & Work Environment

  • Short Term Acute Care facility
  • Magnet recognized, Teaching hospital, Level III Trauma center
  • Total staffed beds: 672
  • Charting system: Excellian/Epic
  • Scrub color provided by facility for this position
  • Parking: Flat rate of $0.55/hour

Additional Requirements & Notes

  • Must complete Minnesota DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after signing contract for fingerprinting clearance (no starts allowed with fingerprints pending unless approved “more time needed” letter)
  • Background checks include MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) search and EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 1 year
  • Pre-orientation online modules must be completed within 72 hours of receiving login; modules take 3-9 hours depending on specialty
  • Passport-style photo required within 48 hours of signing contract for badge issuance
  • No floating to other units or sister facilities
  • No local candidates within 100-mile radius accepted
