Registered Nurse - NICU (Travel)

Location: Webster, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

Unit: Neonatal ICU
Number of Beds: 42
Staff per Shift:
- Day: 1 charge nurse, 10-15 RNs, 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT)
- Night: 1 charge nurse, 10-15 RNs, 1 PCT
Patient Ratios:
- Level 3 acuity: 1 nurse to 1-3 patients (depending on acuity)
- Level 2 acuity: 1 nurse to 3-4 patients
Equipment: Isolettes, OMNI beds, phototherapy, computers
Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Meditech and CPN
Floating Area: Newborn nursery
Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs

Required Certifications & Licenses

Registered Nurse (RN) license
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
STABLE certification preferred

Experience Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience as an RN in the specialty (Neonatal ICU)

Skills & Procedures

Must have: NRP certification
Preferred: STABLE certification
Experience with central lines such as UAC, UVC, Broviacs, PICC lines
Typical procedures: IV starts, PICC insertions (for trained clinicians)

Work Schedule & Environment

Minimum 4 weekend shifts per schedule
Occasional on-call duties
Team-oriented environment; ideal candidate is a team player and self-motivated
Unit provides a resource nurse for support

Additional Notes

Candidates without NRP certification will not be considered
Unit policies and guidelines are available for review on assignment

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
