Description
Respiratory Tech - Respiratory Therapy
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
- Weekend Hours: Typically every third weekend, occasionally every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Number of Openings: 1
- Unit: Respiratory Therapy Adult
- Patient Population: Neuro and cardiac heavy patients
- Typical Patient Ratios: 14-bed ICU plus approximately 2 non-acute areas
- Equipment Used: Servo I ventilators, V60, Vapotherm, RapidPoint ABG
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner
- Float Requirements: Cover main adult house and occasionally back up staffing for the Free Standing ER
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Alabama
- Minimum 3 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
Work Environment & Dress Code
- Facility Size: 595 beds (staffed for approximately 350)
- Dress Code: Black scrubs
- Attire Restrictions:
- No artificial or long nails; standard nail polish only
- Maximum one ring per hand
- No bracelets except medical alert bracelets
