RN - Emergency Department - Travel
Location: Pompton Plains, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel Nursing
Job Summary
Provide competent nursing care in the Emergency Department, demonstrating thorough assessment skills across all age groups (Pediatric to Geriatric). Deliver direct patient care, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold professional standards and patient safety protocols. Support patient education and participate actively in the perioperative and pre-admission testing processes as applicable.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive and systematic patient assessments.
- Deliver appropriate emergency nursing care and demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes and patient progress.
- Uphold professional practice responsibilities and adhere to policies and procedures.
- Promote patient and family-centered care with professionalism and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and patient identification standards.
- Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
- Individualize patient care based on surgical procedures and anesthesia types.
- Conduct pre-operative and postoperative assessments and education.
- Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

- Approximately 13 weeks
Physical Requirements
- Must meet occupational safety standards and be able to perform duties requiring physical activity as defined by safety guidelines.
