MRI Technologist - Janesville, WI
Job Type
- Contract position
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts (Thursday to Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM)
- May require flexible hours, alternate shifts, weekends, and on-call as needed

Job Description
- Perform MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation
- Prepare patients for MRI procedures, including patient instruction to minimize anxiety and ensure cooperation
- Apply magnetic resonance safety principles to protect patients, self, and others
- Operate MRI equipment, including magnetic resonance system, surface coils, and physiologic gating devices
- Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest while ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Immobilize patients as needed for appropriate examination
- Select appropriate pulse sequences based on protocols and data acquisition parameters
- Perform venipuncture, start and maintain venous access, and prepare/administer contrast media
- Verify consent and screening forms using appropriate scripting, barriers, and identifiers
- Assist physicians with interventional procedures
- Practice aseptic technique and observe universal precautions
- Evaluate images and data for technical quality; manipulate and reconstruct digital data for display with proper identification
- Use radiology information systems (including PACS) to complete records, reports, and submit images for review
- Provide physical and psychological support to patients during procedures
- Initiate basic life support actions when necessary
- Provide practical instruction to partners and students
- Participate as part of a multidisciplinary team, including committee service and project participation as requested
Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT Radiography registration
- ARRT MRI registration
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
