Description
Registered Nurse (Med Surg Telemetry) - Travel Assignment
Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours (weekend shifts recommended at least 2 per month)
Facility & Unit Overview
- Level II Trauma Center with 43 beds in the Medical Unit
- Patient population: Adults (18 years and older)
- Patient ratios: 1:5 and 1:6
- Equipment includes vital signs machines, bladder scanners, IV pumps, thermal imaging, lifts, and tube feeding pumps
- Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
Job Description
- Specialty: Medical/Surgical with Telemetry
- Common patient diagnoses: cirrhosis, sepsis, pneumonia, respiratory illnesses, wounds, congestive heart failure (CHF)
- Float requirements as needed by the facility
- Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
- Oncology skills helpful but not necessary
Additional Information
- Weekend shifts: Policy recommends working at least 2 per month
- No call requirements
- Submittal requirements include resume, competency exam, skills checklist, and screening questions
