Description
Job Opportunity: Neuro ICU Registered Nurse
Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Unit: Neuro ICU
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Float Requirements: Must be able to float to ICU, IMC, and Telemetry units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Neuro ICU experience within the last year
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- E-Verify compliance (for direct hires)
- Background checks including:
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start date
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG screenings upon hire
- Education verification (highest level of education)
- Negative 2-step TB test, QGOLD, or TSPOT within 1 year of start
- Required vaccinations or immunity documentation:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history of chickenpox
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (during flu season)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Unit-specific skills checklist completed annually
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
Additional Notes
- Candidates residing in certain Texas counties are not eligible for this travel assignment.
- Clear headshot photo required for badge issuance.
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment and HIPAA compliance required.
- Competency exams and color blindness testing may be required as applicable.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized Neuro ICU setting with a focus on critical neurological care, requiring strong clinical skills and flexibility to float across related critical care units.
