Registered Nurse (OB) - Dixon, Illinois

Job Details

• Specialty: Obstetrics (Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Level 2 Nursery)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 12-hour shifts (7a-7p), 36 hours per week
• Unit Size: 7 beds with 1 overflow room
• Facility Size: Approximately 80 beds
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1 in labor, 1:3 in postpartum, following AWHONN staffing guidelines for patient acuity
• Typical Patients: Antepartum, Labor & Delivery (including high risk), Level 2 nursery, clean gynecological surgical patients
• Float Policy: May float to med-surg, emergency department, or other units during surges; rotation with permanent staff

Required Certifications & Skills

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
• Postpartum experience
• Nursery experience
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (EFM) competency
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Orientation

• 2-3 days of on-unit orientation with 12-hour shifts
• Orientation includes classroom and on-unit learning with possible testing
• Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours

Requirements for Submission

• Active Illinois RN license or proof that application process has started
• Negative drug screen (drug-free campus policy)
• Last four digits of Social Security Number and middle initial
• Requested time off must be provided before contract establishment

Experience Required

• Minimum 1 year of OB nursing experience; preferably 2 or more years
