Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Position

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

• Inpatient Rehab Speech Therapy Unit
• 44 beds
• 2 speech therapists on day shift; no night shift
• Patient ratio approximately 1:8-10
• Equipment includes MBS Suite, Vital Stim, IOPI, EMST150, Bioness BITs
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system in use

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat multiple diagnoses related to swallowing and speech language
• Perform Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies

Required Qualifications

• Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, including experience within the last year
• ASHA Certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Speech Language Pathologist Assessment or USP 800 Hazardous Drug Risk certification
• Experience working with adult patients

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in neurogenic disorders
• Experience in inpatient rehabilitation

Work Environment & Schedule

• Day shift only
• Approximately 36 hours per week
• Rotating weekends, typically one shift per month
• May float to acute hospital units if needed
• Dress code: Black scrub bottoms and royal blue scrub top preferred (other colors accepted)
