RN NICU Job Opportunity - Texas, Waco

Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Level II
  • Shift: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (overnight)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Patient Population: Neonates 32 weeks gestation and greater
  • Key Responsibilities: Attend deliveries, transition babies, provide care in Level II NICU

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NRP issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Driver's License

Onboarding & Compliance

  • Completion of onboarding modules including:
    • Specialty exam and skills checklist updated annually
    • Core competencies covering HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, and other regulatory topics
    • Epic electronic health record test-out and training checklist
    • Color vision test updated every 3 years
    • Various attestations and assignment agreements as part of onboarding process

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
  • Optional items include unit-specific checklists and badge photo submission.
  • All documentation must be current and compliant with facility policies prior to assignment start.

This position is ideal for NICU RNs seeking a 13-week contract in a Level II NICU setting with overnight shifts, requiring comprehensive neonatal care skills and adherence to strict credentialing and health requirements.
