Description

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location: Warwick, Rhode Island
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Specialty: Emergency Room Nursing
Required Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty (defaulted to higher requirement if discrepancy)


Required Qualifications

  • Licensure: Valid RN license verified through Nursys; primary source verification within 30 days of start and updated upon expiration
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
    • ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
    • PALS (AHA or ARC accepted)
    • NIH Certification (American Heart Association)
  • Education: BSN degree or equivalent diploma/transcripts required
  • Immunizations and Health Requirements:
    • COVID-19 vaccine series or bivalent booster (medical exemptions require prior approval)
    • MMR: Proof of 2 immunizations or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B: Complete vaccination series (titers not accepted)
    • Influenza vaccine required annually during flu season (10/1 – 6/30), no exemptions allowed
    • Varicella: Proof of 2 immunizations or positive titer
    • Tdap: Proof of immunization within last 10 years
    • Tuberculosis screening: Two-step PPD or IGRA within last year; if positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
  • Additional Health & Safety:
    • N95 mask fit testing within one year prior to start (specific approved mask models)
  • Background and Verification:
    • Federal, county, national, and statewide background checks including OIG, NSO, GSA/SAM searches within 6 months of start
    • Employment verification for last 5 years
  • Other Requirements:
    • Rhode Island fingerprinting at Attorney General’s Office within 30 days of start
    • Completion of multiple competency exams and checklists specific to Emergency Room nursing (skills checklist, specialty competency exam, basic EKG exam, pharmacology exam, core competencies)
    • Submission of professional references (minimum 1 supervisory)
    • Signed confidentiality agreement and other onboarding paperwork prior to start
    • Neutral background badge photo required
    • Valid driver’s license or state ID

Additional Information

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • All required documentation and testing must be completed and uploaded before the start date.
  • This is a 36-hour per week night shift position in the Emergency Room setting.

This role is suited for experienced Emergency Room RNs who meet the above licensure, certification, and health requirements and are available for a 13-week night shift assignment in Rhode Island.
