Registered Nurse (RN) - Step Down

Location

  • Indianapolis, Indiana

Employment Type

  • Travel contract
  • Contract length: 12 weeks

Unit Information

  • Unit: Surgical Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown/Progressive Care)
  • Number of beds: 23
  • Patient ratios: 1:3 or 1:4
  • Patient population: Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU), cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: EPIC

Shift Details

  • Dayshift: 1900 to 0730 (overnight shift)
  • Weekend rotation: every 3rd weekend (Saturday and Sunday, 1900 to 0730)
  • Holiday rotation included
  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
  • No call requirements
  • May be required to float to other stepdown/PCUs

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Indiana
  • Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Experience with thoracic and vascular surgery patients

Additional Information

  • Dress code: Navy scrubs
  • Experience with CVPCU, cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients preferred
  • Candidates may be required to complete education modules prior to the first day
