Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse

Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
  • Hours per Week: 40 hours
  • Schedule: 5 days per week (no weekends required)
  • Patient Ratio: 1:1, with up to 6 patient visits per day (30 productivity points standard)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Block schedules, floating between units, or alternative shift patterns (4x10s or 3x12s) are not accommodated
  • Locals within 50-75 miles considered local and accepted
  • Own transportation required; daily travel radius up to approximately 60 miles (60-90 minutes total drive time)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oregon
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Home Health nursing, with experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • Experience with OASIS documentation system

Facility & Work Environment

  • Type of Facility: Home Health
  • Attire: Business casual; scrubs allowed but not required (no jeans)
  • Charting Systems: EPIC Remote Client (laptop), Rover (phone app), and OASIS
  • Parking: Free
  • Mileage Reimbursement: IRS standard

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background Check: Must be completed within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; includes SSN trace, death master index, nationwide and state-specific checks, motor vehicle record, and others as applicable
  • Education Verification: Required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report
  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work
  • Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable)
  • Immunizations & Health Screenings:
    • TDAP within 10 years (declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required annually for respirator use (travel only)
  • Fit Mask Testing: Required for travel nurses, updated annually (onsite testing available)
  • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
  • Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates worked

  • Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off up to one shift every two weeks
  • Travel Experience: Prior travel experience is required (first-time travelers not accepted)

  • Annual Regulatory Modules: Not required for Home Health at this facility
  • System Specialty Specific Modules: Not required for Home Health at this facility

This position is ideal for experienced home health RNs licensed in Oregon and Washington who have prior travel nursing experience and are comfortable with a day-shift schedule and patient visits requiring travel within a moderate radius.
