Description
Registered Nurse - Cardiology (Travel)
Location
- Lewiston, Maine
- 37-bed unit, Telemetry/Cardiology specialty
- Level III Trauma Center
- 24/7 Emergency Care, Cardiovascular Services, Cancer Care, Orthopedics, Women’s & Children’s Health, Primary Care
- Teaching hospital environment
Contract Details
- Travel assignment
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3 twelve-hour shifts per week)
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- No call requirements
Unit & Patient Population
- Unit: T3 Cardio
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
- Patient population includes post-op cardiac cath patients, stroke, CHF, A-fib, arrhythmias, and med-surg cardiac cases
- Equipment includes Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, ceiling and portable Hoyer lifts, portable cardiac monitors, defibrillators for transport, and EKG machines
- Electronic Health Records: Omnicell, EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with at least 1 year of recent Cardiac PCU experience
- Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience in telemetry monitoring and cardiology nursing
- Proficient in post-operative cardiac catheterization care
- Skilled in cardiac drip titration and management of dysrhythmias
