Description
Registered Nurse - Postpartum / Mom Baby (Travel)
Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit: Postpartum / Mother-Baby (3 North)
- Beds: 23
- Staff: Approximately 80 on mom/baby unit
- Day Shift Staffing: 1 charge nurse, 2-3 CNAs, 9-10 RNs on floor, 3-4 RNs in nursery
- Night Shift Staffing: 1 charge nurse, 9-10 RNs on floor, 2-3 RNs in nursery
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 3-4 patients per nurse (estimated)
- Equipment: Main computer system - CPN
- EMR System: Meditech / CPN
Job Description
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage perineal care
- Educate parents on newborn care, safety, and bonding
- Work collaboratively with staff and providers
- Adapt quickly to new situations and demonstrate flexibility with scheduling
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
- Minimum 1 year of postpartum nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience working with maternal-fetal patients
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience specifically in a Mother/Baby unit
- Compassionate, patient, and a strong team player
- Effective communication skills with staff and providers

- This is a competitive travel assignment in a busy postpartum unit with a supportive team environment
