Description

Registered Nurse (RN) ICU - Neurology

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week


Job Description

Provide nursing care under general supervision to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex in an ICU Neurology setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage care for an assigned group of patients.
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments; update changes in physician orders.
  • Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
  • Monitor and obtain physiological data; intervene as necessary.
  • Administer medications, regulate and monitor IV infusions and blood products.
  • Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families.
  • Inform patients and families about hospital procedures and discharge plans.
  • Make referrals for patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Delegate tasks to support staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oklahoma
  • Minimum 1 year of Neuro ICU nursing experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
