Nuclear Med Technician – Presque Isle, ME
Job Overview
- Perform PET CT scans primarily in the afternoon.
- Work schedule: 4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday), 10-hour shifts (4/10 schedule).
- Average patient volume: 8-10 patients per day; when performing PET CTs, about 5 patients per day.
- Fixed location position; no floating required.
- No weekends, no call, and no holiday work expected.
- Shift start times rotate between 5:30-6:00 AM or 7:00 AM.
- Orientation period: 2 weeks, adjusted based on skill level and comfort.
Facility & Work Environment
- Imaging rooms include 3 Nuclear Medicine rooms: Gamma Camera, Stress Room, PET CT.
- Patient types: Emergency Department, Outpatient, Inpatient.
- Types of scans performed: DEXA, Cardiac, Stress Rest tests, HIDA, Renal, Bone, PET CT.
- Support on unit: Lead Tech, 2 techs per shift, internal transport, radiologist on site.
- Technology used: Cerner EMR, Enterprise Imaging AGFA PACS.
- Equipment: Siemens dual head camera, GE IQ PET CT.
- Professional dress code: any solid color scrubs or facility-provided scrubs.

Required Qualifications
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification: NMTCB or ARRT (Nuclear Medicine).
- Maine state license.
- BLS certification.
- Dosimeter (dose reader badge) required.
- Experience with nuclear imaging scans listed above.
- Preferred: more than 1 year of experience, but 1 year experience accepted.
- First-time travelers are accepted; prior travel experience is not required.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks.

- Completion of standard healthcare compliance and credentialing documents, including but not limited to:
- Annual Core Competencies
- Clinical References (2)
- Criminal Background Check
- Drug Screen
- Immunizations and titers (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, TDAP)
- Physical and PPD test
- CPR Certification (BLS)
- Dosimeter Attestation
- Various federal and state exclusion and screening checks
