Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry
Location: Sanford, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Position Details
- Unit: Medical/Surgical – Telemetry
- Floor: Med/Surg 232
- Number of Beds: 24
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: Every Other/As Needed
- Call Requirements: As Needed
- Patient Population: All ages
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Cerner
- Float Requirements: As Needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications prior to start:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
- CPI, HWC, or MAB (de-escalation/restraint training)
Work Environment & Culture
- Professional dress code: scrubs of any color allowed; no casual wear
- Small-town setting with access to larger metropolitan areas (Raleigh, Durham, Research Triangle)
- Facility recognized as a Primary Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center with advanced heart failure accreditation
- Patient care includes a wide range of specialties such as cardiology, orthopedics, general surgery, emergency medicine, and more
Additional Notes
- Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
- The role requires professionalism and the ability to work with a diverse patient population across all ages
