Surgical Tech Position - Iowa

Location

• City: Albia, Iowa

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Day shift starting at 6:00 AM
• 36 hours per week, typically 9-hour shifts
• Varied days Monday through Friday, no self-scheduling or block scheduling
• No call, weekends, or holiday requirements
• May occasionally work later than scheduled due to add-on cases

Unit and Work Environment

• Operating Room (OR) Tech in a unit with 1 OR suite and 1 Endoscopy suite
• Average of 5-7 cases per day
• Floating within the department to assist in Central Sterile or other areas as needed
• Provided hospital scrubs; must have clean shoes
• Unit/department-specific orientation provided

Common Cases

• Total joint replacements
• Arthroscopies
• Laparoscopic cholecystectomy and hernia repairs
• Open hernia repairs
• Ports placement
• Endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association

• Manager available on day shift; no charge nurse or house supervisor on each shift
